*When I turned 60, my birthday gift to myself was a personal trainer. Like many women, I struggled with weight, self image problems, and no time for myself, wherein I could even choose to devote time to exercise. Dawn was my birthday gift, having been highly recommended from a very reliable source, so I took the plunge. So almost two years later my body has truly been transformed. As most fitness sources emphasize, especially for women, weight training is crucial to our health, even more so than cardio, and put the two together and you have a winning ticket. Dawn truly has put the time into her fitness education, continually striving to stay on top of her profession, and she shares this knowledge and talent with enthusiasm and great direction. The hour flies by as she brutally and effectively drives me to new heights with fantastic results. Things I couldn't dream of doing two years ago are now things I do regularly and well, the results being a body I only could have dreamt of 30 years ago. She makes it fun but you never lose sight of your mission to excel and push, push, push. She inspires and encourages and is a fabulous role model for anyone. No matter your fitness level, she will handle you with expertise and care and take you to levels you won't believe.
*He's 70 going on 30! I am so proud of my client, Comer Broughton. He came to me almost a year ago, sedentary, out of shape, stiff, in pain, diabetic and a cancer survivor; his diabetic numbers were dangerously high; his blood sugar in the 200's and his A1C (your average glucose over 3 months) was 11.5, doctors like it at 7. He trained 3 times a week for *10 months and his hard work has paid off. His blood sugar is now 135 and his A1C is 7.4. Not to mention his overall strength and stamina improvement. He holds a plank 8 times longer than when he started! He has his life back and is enjoying his retirement biking, fishing and playing in chess tournaments. What a success story! Way to go Comer!
Dawn has been our personal trainer for several years. She is always upbeat and enthusiastic yet serious about strengthening our bodies with numerous and varying exercises. We are 74 and 75, and she always keeps our ages in mind as she plans our workout routines. Dawn is concerned about our overall health and fitness and truly follows her motto of keeping us "fit forever." We are impressed with her commitment to her field, as seen in her pursuing continuing education courses and staying certified as a trainer and in CPR. Dawn keeps us on track with our goals yet manages to make working out fun and interesting. We have had several trainers over the years, and Dawn is, by far, the best!
